Advanced CV connectivity
Just like the hardware original, MF-109s Saturator features CV connectivity in classic modular synth style. Bringing the dynamic connection of the hardware plug-ins to the digital realm, you can virtually patch external sources or other MoogerFooger plug-ins to modulate parameters through external sources. Offering CV inputs to modulate the Drive, Driven Envelope Amount, Noise Level, Noise Envelope Amount and Tone, you can create subtle shifting tones which move with your music through external sources.
Envelope settings
The MoogerFooger Software MF-109S Saturator plug-in offers true stereo effects with customizable envelope settings. By default, the ENVELOPE is set to MONO, which means the left and right audio channels' drive will be affected identically by the envelope follower. However, if you set the ENVELOPE to STEREO, the left and right channels will have separate envelope followers, each responding to that channel's dynamics. This feature allows for independent motion of the stereo drive based on the envelope follower.
Adjust your response
Another adjustable setting in the MF-109S Saturator is the RESPONSE control, which affects the envelope follower's curve as it rises and falls in response to the audio dynamics. You can choose between two options: EXPONENTIAL for a sharper, faster response, or SMOOTH for a slower, more rounded response. Experimenting with different responses will help you find the best option for your specific sound, as each setting can produce varying results depending on the audio's character.
Find the right tone
The MF-109S Saturator also offers four different filter types for the noise generator TONE shaper: Lowpass, Bandpass, Notch, and Highpass. These filters are modeled after 2-pole passive filters, providing a smooth and non-resonant character to the noise shaping circuit. The TONE control acts as a filter cutoff frequency control, changing its behavior according to the selected filter type.
