Yamaha NS-10 Pair

The NS-10 is an 8-ohm two-way speaker with a 10.4-liter closed box, measuring 382 × 215 × 199 mm and weighing 6 kg. The cabinet is made of 2.5 cm particleboard with a wood veneer surface and seven layers of black finish.

The white cone of the bass/midrange driver contrasts with the black cabinet finish and has become an iconic design feature.

The crossover is a second-order passive, with a crossover frequency of 2 kHz. The speaker has a frequency response of 60 Hz - 20 kHz and a power handling of 25-50 W. Early models used push-in connections, while later versions were given screw terminals for better connection.

The speaker has two elements:

• 180 mm paper woofer/midrange with a 3.7 g lightweight diaphragm made from pressed paper pulp, formed by rolling and gluing instead of compression molding.
• 35 mm soft dome tweeter for clear treble reproduction.
