EBS Stanley Clarke Signature Acoustic Preamp
The EBS Stanley Clarke Signature Acoustic Preamp is a high-quality two-channel preamplifier specifically designed for acoustic bass but versatile enough to accommodate other instruments. It is the result of a collaboration between EBS and the legendary bassist Stanley Clarke.
Sound Quality
The preamp operates at a console-grade signal level, providing ample headroom. This results in a superior sound quality, making it suitable for use as a preamp in conjunction with any power amp. Two Channels with Flexible Filtering
Both channel A and B feature an input gain control and an EQ section with bass, midrange (select the frequency range with one knob and cut or boost in that range with another), and treble controls. Both channels also have a secret weapon: a control knob that can be used as either a high-pass or notch filter. A switch selects the function, while the control knob picks the frequency range. The notch and high-pass filters are excellent tools for preventing unwanted feedback and tailoring the sound to the room's characteristics and your instrument.
Individual Channel Flexibility
With a 10 Mohm input impedance for both channel A and B, the preamp handles any instrument with passive, active, or high-impedance piezo pickups. Channel A also supports electret pickups when activating a dedicated switch. Channel B allows you to use a 48V phantom-powered (or passive) dynamic or condenser microphone as a source via an XLR input. Choose between using the XLR or 1/4" input for channel B with a switch. The preamp lets you switch between channel A and B for different settings when playing with a bow or pizzicato, or blend the two if you use two different input sources.
Outputs and Additional Features
Connect additional effects in series or parallel through the effects loop (requires a Y-split insert cable). A tuner output lets you plug in an external tuner. A balanced XLR output sends a studio-quality line signal to the front-of-house or a recording device.
